A solar panel installed on the roof is powering a 12-Volt motor down below in the gallery, amidst an installation of devices and components. The motor is driving a drawing mechanism which rests at night, when cloudy or in the shade.

The drawing machine is making marks on large paper (240cm x 120cm) wrapped around a drum, which through many reduction gears rotates very slowly – about once a week. The drawing will slowly accumulate over the exhibition.

The paper drum is mains-powered so it never sleeps - nights appear as gaps in the drawing. Days of sunshine will leave dense areas of accumulated marks – cloudy days less so.
